EXQUISITE VINTAGE ITALIAN MURANO GLASS BASKET. Presenting an exceptionally impressive vintage Italian Murano art glass basket, expertly handcrafted by a master Venetian glass artist. It is most likely this stunning example was produced by the renowned artist, Archimede Seguso. This fine example has been masterfully handcrafted in a radiant cranberry pink coloured glass filled with a lavish quantity of glistening real gold aventurine inclusions. Vertical ribbing magnificently follows the sleek contour of the form, culminating in an elegant waned rim.
An applied clear glass handle filled with gold aventurine inclusions perfectly completes, its finely ribbed surface adding a dazzling sparkle to the glass. The combination of glistening gold and cranberry glass is exceptionally attractive. The thick ribbed lobes to the body spectacularly radiate light throughout the form.
The varying thicknesses of glass act like a lens, magnificently magnifying and distorting the light to create striking optical effects. This piece looks exquisite with light illuminating the richly coloured glass and glistening off the aventurine inclusions. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 130mms tall from the base to the top of the handle, the bowl measuring 70mms tall excluding the handle. This basket measures 150mms in length x 130mms in width. CONDITION: This fabulous Italian Murano art glass piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.This stunning piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. There is an encapsulated air bubble within the base of the basket, a part of the manufacture but mentioned for complete accuracy. This piece has been very well finished with a quality flat ground polished base.
