Tall Hand Blown Frosted Grey Glass with Blue-Purple Vines & Leaves. Late 50's early 60's.
Large hand blown grey vase in frosted polished glass with a climbing vine to leaves in a blue-ish Purple hand applied by Arte Vetraria Muranese A. , Murano Island, Venice, Italy, Late 50's, early 60's. Very unique ahead of its time but a timeless functional piece, we have had for 30+ years, never seen another, wife & I have been to Murano Island twice since 2015.
We were surprised by some of the studio people by our Murano pictures of the rarity, turned out we own 4 Venini's, and did not know this was an AVEM till 2018! Excellent shape, condition, design, thick well done frosted grey glass, polished rim & base, ewer, or pitcher like, but it is a vase.
Applied vines & leaves gorgeous. Measures: 13.5 inches tall, 12 inches deep, top rim is 2.5 inch by 2.25 inch, polished flat smooth, no chips, cracks, flea bites, damage, repairs, well made design thick by glass standards but very beautifully done, tapers out to a 4.5 inch base, thick polished smooth.
