Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian glass small vase or toothpick holder, made on the island of Murano , near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by A. (Arte Vetraria Muranese) , similar items are shown in the book "Fifties Glass" by Leslie Pina (page 50). Decorated with silver leaf, white Zanfirico lattice filigree, twisted ribbon canes, and copper Aventurine. All of this is surrounded with an inner casing of red glass, and an outer clear glass casing.
Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still most likely classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flowerheads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.
