Monumental Huge Vintage Murano Italian Art Glass Lamp Gold Bubbles Barovier Toso

Massive Vintage Venetian Art Glass Lamp Description and Item Information Up for sale is this fabulous, vintage Murano art glass lamp. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This impressive lamp has two large sections of vertically ribbed art glass; the glass has big bullicante bubbles and coarse gold inclusions. There are giltwood sections in between and below the glass pieces. The background color of the glass is whitish, but it is not a completely opaque, bright white. The lamp is of a very large size. It is approximately 41 1/2 inches tall to the top of the finial. This has a harp and a finial, but it does not have a shade; part of the finial is a shinier brass than the rest of the hardware. To the top of the upper glass section, the lamp is about 26 5/8 inches tall. At the base, the lamp has a diameter of approximately 10 inches. The lamp weighs more than my scale can measure; I estimate that it weighs approximately 23 to 26 pounds, unpacked. It accepts one light bulb, and it has a pull chain switch. The base is covered with felt. This luxe, vintage lamp would be a dramatic addition to a glam Hollywood regency style decor.

Identification This lamp is made from Italian glass, circa mid-20th century, likely by Barovier and Toso. Condition The lamp looks very good.

The glass has no chips or cracks. The gilt wood sections have light wear, with a few very small, touched-up nicks; there is some "rubbing" wear to the gilt finish where the glass comes into contact with it. The socket and harp hardware have minor finish wear.

Scattered tiny inclusions in the glass are as made. As with all used electrical items, this should be inspected or rewired by a professional before use, even though the visible electrical components looks fine cosmetically.
