Murano Sommerso Uranium Glass Vase 3 Colour Mandruzzato c1960s

This is a simple and elegant piece of mid-twentieth century Italian Sommerso ("submerged") Art Glass from Murano, possibly by the well-known maker Mandruzzato. It is a vase with an inner core of aubergine glass, then a layer of uranium yellow (see photos 4, 5, and 6 in UV light), then blue, encased in a chunky clear glass body with bark texturing to the sides which scatters the light in a very attractive manner. Standing 12.5cm tall and weighing 1kg it is in very good condition with only nibbling to the inner rim and scratching to the base.
