Salviati Venetian Murano Art Glass Compote Goblet Signed by Artist Chuck Savoie. The glass is all hand blown accented in multiple latticino, meaning lace, patterns throughout the entire piece. The technique is unimaginable as each fine line of multiple lace patterns rests perfectly and symmetrically inside the glass.
This is a spectacular piece with white and pink latticino patterns (Zanfarico) throughout with hot pink raspberry rims to the top of the goblet and foot of the piece. The stem exhibits one of the hardest Italian techniques known as (Reticello) where molten glass is blown to form a criss cross pattern.
Charles Savoie is an American Master Glass Blower who has studied under the most famous of glass blowers to include Dale Chihuly, but he has continued to be most influenced by Italian glass blowing techniques as can be seen in his work. Savoie's glass is all hand blown and accented in multiple colored latticino or lace-like patterns. He is known for his Italian series of "Zanfirico" goblets, using colored glass canes in his latticino technique. His technique is unimaginable as each fine line of multiple lace patterns rests perfectly and symmetrically inside the glass. He has been featured in Smithsonian exhibits and has won many awards. His reticello goblets feature using some of the most difficult of all glass blowing techniques with criss crossed glass can work down the stem.
