This is what we believe to be a set of six hexagonal glass Pagliesco tumblers designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini, dating from a pre-war design (c1932) but probably manufactured later in the 20th century, c1980 (the previous owner bought a number of quality pieces in Murano at about this time). The glasses are in excellent condition for their age. They show age related wear and tear to the rims of the feet consistent with use. The glasses have hexagonal-shaped bowls measuring 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) across. The bowls are in a straw colour which we believe is called Fumé and are edged at the rims with red.
The glasses are 14 cm (5.6 inches) in height. The bases are kicked in with rough pontil marks to the centre. Dimensions vary slightly from glass to glass. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. Each glass weighs in at 75 g.
