EXCEPTIONAL VINTAGE MURANO GLASS BIRD SCULPTURE. Presenting a most impressive vintage Italian Murano art glass bird sculpture / figure expertly hand crafted by a master Italian glass artist circa 1950s. This exquisite freestanding sculptural piece has been spectacularly coloured with fiery red and burgundy tones to the birds back, neck and head and a layer of crisp white to the birds chest. A lavish quantity of sparkling copper aventurine inclusions floats atop the encased layers, adding a dazzling jewel-like sparkle to the glass. Beautiful ribbing to the birds body magnificently accentuates the sparkle of the glass while adding an appealing tactile element to the design.
The combination of deep rich red, crisp white and sparkling aventurine inclusions is exceptionally attractive. The glass has been expertly tooled to create a sleekly stylised bird with an elegant curved neck and pulled tail. Stylishly curved applied clear glass beak and comb perfectly complete this masterfully crafted piece. The flowing lines and ribbing adds an appealing sense of movement to the solid glass form. This beautifully proportioned piece stands proudly atop a knobbed clear glass base filled with sparkling copper aventurine inclusions.
The base adds stability to the sleek figure while elevating the form so it can be fully appreciated from every angle.
